Fat Stylist Shops is a special section made up of plus-size shop reviews. The cool thing about this section is you can contribute to the review by adding your own shopping experience.
Each shop below is linked to a wiki-style page here at Fat Stylist. Click the ‘Add your review’ link in order to rate and comment on your overall shopping experience. Would you recommend it to our readers or tell them to look elsewhere for certain pieces? It’s up to you.
You can also choose to read what other shoppers have said about each shop.
Alight Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Fat Stylist was super excited to learn of the this online shop because it has a great collection of dresses that almost boggles one’s mind. If you’re looking for some less traditional dress styles in plus-sizes this is your place.

Belle Avenue Online
| Brick and mortar: Downtown L.A. ![]()
They have a generous selection of denim and trendy tops. Their prices are low and the quality of clothing is average. It would be nice if more of their tops and dresses were made of cotton instead of polyester, though.

Dillard’s Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
This department store is a Southern staple and I used to work there for a few short months one year. Anyway, in the same vein as Macy’s and Nordstrom, this store has plenty in the plus-size department to offer. It spans the range from traditional to trendy.

Evans Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Look here for trendier, tasteful pieces with a distinctly English flavor. Fat Stylist is definitely a fan of this shop. The blog uses several pieces from their online store to create inspired sets weekly.

Kiyonna Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Kiyonna provides a range of clothing from the little black dresses to bridal gowns. At $70 a pop for a polyester top, I’m not sure the price-point correlates to the quality of the fabric.

Lane Bryant Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Over the past few years, the Lane Bryant online shop has gone down in quality, beautiful pieces. It’s become harder and harder to find a top that doesn’t have a million rhinestones plastered over scripted lettering. However, there’s still a great selection of denim and pants to be had.

Lil’ Mama Online ![]()
This is a fairly new label based in Australia and delivering to the US and UK as well as some other International destinations. They offer glam street wear options as well as chic, dressier options. This is a great shop with a strong design vision.

Macy’s Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Usually offers a huge selection of affordable plus-size designs. A great place for essentials as well as trendy pieces. Some of their larger stores offer brands like Nine West and even Michael Kors in extended sizes.

Nordstrom Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Nordstrom is just about halfway between Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue in both brands as well as prices. Generally, the prices are more attainable than Saks and have a great selection of name brand and designer plus-size labels.

Old Navy Online ![]()
Though they made the unusually ignorant choice to move all their Women’s Plus sizes exclusively online, this is still an all-around great place to shop for classic or trendy tops, dresses, and pants. Many of our polyvore sets contain items from Old Navy.

Re/Dress NYC Shop Coming Soon
Re/Dress is the only place I know of that specializes in plus-size vintage clothing. Just think, you can find several vintage pieces all available in extended sizes. The drawback is the only Re/Dress store is located in NYC.

Saks Fifth Avenue Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Please give me $5000 to spend here, kthanxbai! Seriously, this is the place with some of the most expensive plus-size designs, but it is in proportion to quality and style (and, yeah, the label, too, I guess). It’s worth the splurge once in a while.

Size Appeal Online ![]()
Mostly club wear can be found here. This is a small online shop that is dedicated to plus-size apparel. While not everything here gets our vote (yikes, on their use of rayon and polyester in most of their clothes), it’s worth checking out their selection just the same.

Torrid Online
| Brick and mortar ![]()
Torrid has an excellent selection of well made clothes, though, they tend to be a bit overpriced (as in this is too much to spend for a dress). Their customer tends to be quite a bit young.
