This set is all about exploring a luxurious yet bohemian look. It combines a faux fur vest, opaque tights and a deep draped tunic dress.

INSPIRATION
Lately, I’ve been inspired by vintage apparel. Discovering cool dresses from the 1960s and 1970s has breathed new life into my styling. It has motivated me to explore this fashion period in depth and I totally want to buy every wacky dress inspired by it (I take a size 18 please!). I say “wacky” because the patterns that I’ve noticed a lot can lean a tad towards trippy.

The above dress is a modern piece available online and it lacks the signature 70s trippy paisley inspired pattern that I so dearly am all over right now. However, what it lacks in intense patterns is made up for with its intense blueberry color.

PIECE BY PIECE
This set centers around a very affordable vintage inspired dress from Newport News. But I encourage you to thrift this one out. You can find a plus-size dress with similar structure, more character and a cheaper price tag at your local thrift store.

I picked the faux fur vest for the contrast in texture and the belted waist. Since the dress is basically an A shape, I like the idea of cinching a waist in order to freshen up the look and draw the eye in where your shape naturally nips in.

Black opaque tights polishes up and further updates this look right to the present. The rest of the accessories are a leather clutch, black bangle, twisted chain necklace, black suede heels and Viva La Juicy perfume.

MORE INFORMATION
The faux fur vest is for illustration purposes. You can find out more here.
