Again, I’m forecasting to the fall season ahead with this outfit that uses a military jacket instead of the usual blazer. Want to show the office you mean business? This just might be the outfit to do it!
PIECE BY PIECE
Let’s start with the military jacket since it is the piece that sets the tone for this outfit. Leave the wool jacket open to let the shimmer of the gray top peek through. The contrast in the two fabric textures is interesting and beautiful. The jacket lapels, when left open, will frame your upper chest and neck. The skirt is very current in length and shape. Make sure you tuck in the blouse for an even more polished look. The high heel bootie rises to the ankle, giving you plenty of leg length and height. You may choose to pair with stockings or tights.
COLOR
Why so serious? It’s true black and gray can be serious colors and can border boring, but it’s not just about color all the time, it’s also about texture and sheen. Black and gray colors can carry texture and they shine up well. Of course, I can’t suggest any outfit without my signature color quirk. So for color lovers like myself, I added the brightest orange tote I could find! The business appropriate tote pops against the dark colors of the outfit.
