This set is part romantic, part nerdy, and all gorgeous! I especially love the play on the dusty rose color and brown leather bag.

PIECE BY PIECE
Don’t be afraid of a ruffled skirt. You can pull it off if you keep your styling simple and it works even better if you use a simple, yet elegant top like this one with flutter sleeves from Old Navy.

In stark contrast to the romantic top and skirt in this set, I used less flirtatious set of accessories like the black rimmed glasses and the utilitarian shoulder bag. With the mood set, I thought this librarian archaeologist needed a couple of souvenirs from her travels; the black and gold elephant necklace and faux hand-painted earrings round out the look.

COLOR
Like I mentioned earlier, I love the dusty rose color of the heels and as seen in some of the details in the earrings. Even the shoulder bag, though a camel brown, hints at the rosy pink color when paired against it here.

EXTRAS
You could, if you didn’t feel entirely comfortable, layer on a nice cashmere cardigan and pair of nude or opaque tights.
