Tip of the week: The neck scarf

There are a ton of ways to tie a scarf and there is no wrong or right way, but I’ve been toying with the idea of different scarf shapes and how they can transform my outfits.

I was browsing one of my favorite design student blogs, RoxyMarj, when I noticed this and this. Both images kind of stuck with me just because of the way she tied the scarves.

This particular type of tied scarf is called the Cowboy Tie. I especially love the pointed downward tip. I think it makes a good optical illusion.

So, I thought that I can try this look this summer especially with very plain t-shirts. Usually, when I wear a t-shirt I need another layer– something to minimize the bust. But it’s just too darn hot for a cardigan! As an alternative I can wear a Cowboy Tied scarf; something new I will try this week!

UPDATE: I tried the Cowboy tie this morning with my outfit for today. You can see the picture at flickr.

    Wow!

The scarf definitely makes the outfit pop! I do rock the scarfs on the regular but now you’ve inspired me to try out some new nifty tricks.

It minimized, but it was a great pick! The color and everything makes the set complete! Nice…great tip thanks.
