Wearing flip flops in the office? I guess it isn’t NEARLY as bad as walking around in professional attire with athletic shoes on (my work place dress pet peeve), but that doesn’t make it right. Last year I was more than guilty of committing this fashion no-no. Yes, it was a victimless offense, but it definitely kept me from living up to my cute potential. Please, learn from my mistakes. So what to do when you want to show off those toes because you just spent $25 + tip for a fresh mani/pedi, or if you’re like me, 20 minutes doing it at home and another 40 minutes trying your hardest not to touch a thing all while catching up on Tivo? Luckily there are tons of options out there. Flats with eyelets are all kinds of adorable and are great if you’re working cool pastels. If your office doesn’t completely cramp your style with a no open toe shoe policy, then wear just about any cute sandal you want except for gladiators (a grave fashion offense that should be punishable by a fight to the death). I promise you’ll regret it as much as I regret wearing flips flops last year but just a thousand times more. Definitely try a glossy patent sandal. They’re a smart choice, if I do say so myself, because they can easily navigate work and post work activities. Be sure to explore your peep toe options too. I think the black and tan Jeffrey Campbell heels would look great with this outfit on casual Friday. It’s summertime, let those toes hang out!
