Here’s a slight break from the day wear inspired by menswear. Here I’m exploring Elena Miro’s dressier looks for Autumn ‘08. I really like her use of shimmery fabrics and fuzzy knits (or is that fur? If it is, I hope it’s faux). I’d wear every last one of these looks.

So let’s talk about the look to the right. Yes, it’s all gold, glittery and bold. The very reasons I love it. There are few options for plus-size women in evening wear, so it’s really nice to see such an exceptional piece done for evening.

No, it’s not strappy. No, it’s not off the shoulders, but it’s evening wear none the less. It’s a more casual look for evening, I suppose. But there’s nothing wrong with that. Another take on evening wear in plus-sizes especially (where there are fewer choices to begin with) is never a bad thing.

I’m looking forward to seeing future collections from Elena Miro and I’m hoping they’ll expand their retail locations into the U.S. Only time (and economic pressure) will tell.
